Tracks to the Triangle will have over seventy-five raffle prizes generously provided by our sponsors and Carolina Piedmont members. A sampling of the prizes include locomotives provided by The Antique Barn and Hayes Hobby House, freight cars donated by Bowser and Tangent, structure kits donated by Carolina Craftsman and Downtown Deco, and a WOW steam decoder from TCS.  For a list of Donors, please see the Sponsors and Donors page.

Raffle tickets are $1 each or six for $5. The raffle tickets can be purchased in the silent auction room.

Raffle winners will be posted outside of the Silent Auction Room on Saturday evening. Items will be available for pick up after the banquet.


Silent Auction

The Carolina Piedmont Division wants to help you to clean off your shelves and empty your closets of no longer needed freight cars and structure kits that are just never going to get built. You can easily raise some cash to recycle into your hobby. Here is how it works:


  1. Bring your items to the convention’s Silent Auction any time after 4pm on Thursday, October 20th. There will be a form to complete with the following information needed: your name and registration number, description of the item, and starting bid price for the item. The minimum starting price is $5. If you have inexpensive items, just bundle several to achieve the minimum.

  2. So you don’t like to stand in line? Email your list in advance Bob Clegg at bobcatcs@comcast.net. Easier for you and easier for us. Please put Silent Auction in the email subject line.  Please download and use the attachment at the bottom of this page.

  3. A new and convenient feature that we are adding to this year’s convention is the “Buy-It-Now” option. The seller indicates the price that he or she would be happy to sell for. If a buyer wishes to pay the Buy-It-Now price it is taken off the table at that time. The buyer has immediate possession, the seller knows that his item is sold early on, and the room volunteers move products throughout the convention instead of all on Saturday night. Everyone benefits from this process.

  4. Sellers pay 10% of their sale price to the Carolina Piedmont Division for this service. This minimum service charge is $1.

  5. There is a bid increment of $1.

  6. All buyers and sellers must be registered for the convention.

  7. Payment must be by cash or check payable to the Carolina Piedmont Division.

  8. Buyers must pick up purchased items on Saturday night after the banquet.

  9. Sellers may pick up any unsold items on Sunday morning. Any items not picked up by the end of the convention will be considered donations to the Carolina Piedmont Division.

  10. Private sales are not permitted in the Silent Auction room.

  11. Bidding Ends at 2pm on Saturday the 22nd.  Distribution of items will begin at 4pm.
